The Next Major Villains Of The Marvel Cinematic Universe

All the MCU movies planned for Phases 4, 5, and 6 gives us more chances to see some epic nemeses as well.

In the lead up to the release of Avengers: Infinity War in 2018, directors Joe and Anthony Russo publicly stated their goal of sufficiently depicting the mad titan Thanos as “the preeminent villain in the Marvel universe.”

And after beating the chutney out of the Hulk, choking the life out of Loki (with one hand), literally ripping the brain out of Vision, and throwing his own adopted daughter (Gamora) off a cliff in his single-minded effort to eradicate half of all life in the universe, it’s safe to say the Russo’s successfully introduced us to arguably one of the three greatest movie villains of all time, right up there with Hannibal Lecter and Darth Vader.

But with Thanos’ death effectively concluding the first three phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and at least another 12 films lined up for future phases of the MCU, Marvel movie fans (and filmmakers) are left with a major conundrum:

How can we possibly up the ante from a supervillain like Thanos?
