I’ve said it every year: mock drafts are for amateurs, and big boards are for professionals. In fact, i’ll continue to double/triple/quadruple-down on my belief that mock drafts are pointless at best and idiotic at worse — btw: check out my Final Mock Draft for 2019! — because you have a better chance of predicting every single game of the NCAA Tournament correctly than you do going 32 for 32 in a mock draft. So, why bother?

Rather, the “Big Board” gives you an empirically derived, apples-to-apples way to compare all the prospects in the draft, and conclusively say “even if my incompetent, stuck-in-the-1960s general manager is too stupid to realize it (i’m looking at you, Dave Gettleman), all things being equal, I would rather have [this guy] over [that guy].” And THAT is actually of value.

But you can find a slew of Big Boards from a variety of online draftniks with a quick search of the Google machine (h/t Tony Kornheiser), it’s harder to simply and quickly get an understanding of who that player really is. More specifically, the inevitable question people ask on Days 2 and 3 of the NFL Draft always ends up being: “tell me about this player that [their favorite team] drafted.”

So that’s where we’ve landed. This isn’t just a Big Board of my top 100 guys in the 2019 NFL Draft, but also a “TL;DR”…
